Magnificent Bentley with just 24,000 miles from new.
Unmistakable in stature, the glorious coachwork glows, reflecting years of meticulous care. The sumptuous interior invites you to relax; the smell of fine leather envelops your senses, the burr walnut is smooth and tactile.
A Bentley offers an experience like no other. It is a car that cossets its occupants and delivers its huge performance in a silent and majestic fashion. A Bentley epitomises classic British tradition, mightily impressive and engineered without compromise.
The Brooklands R Mulliner models were a limited edition run of just 100, all long wheel base and all as right hand drive. Gracing the centre console is the individually numbered plaque which resides on the audio equipment trim cover – this car is number 38 of the 100 produced.
Supplied originally by Broughtons Bentley and first registered on 31.03.1998, the most recent keeper (the 3rd) purchased the car in December 1999. From then on, it has been kept in a heated garage and only used on fair-weather days for six months of the year, the other 6 months spent hibernating and declared SORN with the DVLA. It has covered a little over 2,000 miles in the last 4.5 years and will undergo a full recommissioning service before it leaves us for its new home.
Bentley used the opportunity of this final run of Brooklands cars to pull out all the stops, these impressive and individually specced examples were full of every conceivable luxury and extra that the company had to offer and no two are quite the same.
Traditional and timeless colour combination; the interior is a mix of the very best quality Sandstone (cream) leather and luxurious conifer green carpets and Wilton overmats. The upper part of the dash has spruce green leather with the lower knee rolls in Sandstone. All the door trims are topped with walnut and match the dashboard and centre console.
Outside the coachwork is finished in Sherwood green metallic which extends to the headlamp surrounds, bumpers, wing mirrors and the radiator shell. The grill has a special mesh finish which is also reflected in the wing vents at the front. The 18”alloys are found exclusively on the Brooklands R Mulliner cars. Other external additions which are unique to this model are the green enamelled ‘B’ badges on the C pillars and ‘Bentley’, ‘Brooklands R’ and ‘Mulliner’ badges on the wings and boot lid and the oval exhaust tip.
It has the desirable Rolls Royce derived 6.75 litre V8 engine with additional light pressure turbo; it purrs into life at the touch of the red ‘START’ button on the centre console. The original handbook, spare wheel, tools and bulb set are all present in the rear bulkhead trays.
There is absolutely no doubt that this is a car of the utmost quality, manufactured at a time where handmade luxury and bespoke finishes set Bentley aside from other marques.
This Bentley is a very special thing indeed; it deserves an equally special home with an owner who values the luxurious craftsmanship and exceptional engineering ………..nobody makes cars like this anymore.
